ServSafe Exam Do I need to pass a Food Safety Manager Certification exam? A food safety certification is mandatory in many states, including California, Texas, Arizona, Florida and Maryland. However, different states and counties sometimes have different certification guidelines and requirements. For more information, please review our certification requirements by state or contact your local health authority. Do I have to complete a class or food safety program before I can take the Food Safety Manager Exam? This varies from State to State. Please select your state from the list or contact your local health department for more information. What is the passing score for the Food Safety Manager exam? Student’s must receive 75% or higher to become a certified food manager. How many questions are on the Food Manager Exam? There are anywhere from 80-90 questions of the Food Manager Exam. How long is the Food Manager Certification valid for? The standard for food managers is to obtain their certification every 5 years, but this may vary depending on the state and/or local jurisdiction. Is my certificate valid in the new state I moved to? If you have already passed a Food Safety Manager exam from ServSafe, Prometric or NRFSP and it has not expired, your certification is valid nationwide, in all states. However, some jurisdictions have their own specific regulations, so please make sure to check with your local health authority for any additional requirements. ServSafe Certification What is the ServSafe Certification? The ServSafe Food Manager Certification is a nationally accredited program accepted by health departments nationwide. DMV Food Safety has partnered with ServSafe to offer you the Food Manager Certification Exam, as well as multiple training options to meet your training needs. What is included in the Classroom Training and ServSafe Certification Exam option and how much does it cost? Classroom training is highly recommended and usually the most effective way to prepare for the exam. Our most popular training and certification package is $275 and it includes: Classroom training with a food safety expert ServSafe Certification Exam - Available in English, Spanish, Korean, Chinese and French Canadian Study Materials . What is the class schedule? Classes are from 9am – 5pm*, but we do ask you to arrive at 9:30 am for check-in. The following is a breakdown of the class schedule: 9am to 1pm | Class Instruction 1pm to 1:30pm | 30-Minute Break 1:30pm to 2:30pm | Review Session 3pm to 5pm | Exam *Class schedule may vary depending and location and state regulatory requirements. What is included in the Study Guide? When will I get it? The Study Guide is emailed to you upon registration so you can review it prior to the class. This 65+ page resource covers all the core FDA food safety standards and guidelines, 2 Practice Tests and the Tips to Passing the Food Safety Exam. Does DMV Food Safety offer private on-site classes? Yes, depending upon the number of students, we can have our instructor come on-site to your company. Many of our clients prefer this option because of the convenience of having a class catered to fit their work schedule. Does DMV Food Safety offer corporate discounts? Yes.
